| Streetsville had a library in town since 1854, where it was part of
the Farmers’ and Mechanics’ Institute. The library operated
out of the former Cunningham Tinsmith Shop, now known as the Streetsville
Village Hall, from 1902 to 1967, when the controversial 6500 square foot
Centennial Library was opened. The library had a book stick of slightly
more than 20,000 and near the end of 1972 a total of 4,327 had library
cards. |
