| Patrick Heron is listed as a carpenter in an early business directory
for the village, and it is known that the Heron family had a long association
with the land at Church and Main Street. The house remained within the
family of Patrick Heron for 30 years, and later became the residence
of James Dandie, a hardware store owner and house painter who served
on Streetsville’s
Town Council for over 25 years during the early part of the 20th century. Its
one-and-a-half storey height and hipped roof are typical of the Ontario Regency
style besides the portico covering the front door is a later addition and the
extension on the east end of the building which was added later in 1954. |
