| 13 Thomas Street |
| Thomas Paterson, after whom Thomas Street is named, was the son of
James Paterson, known as the “Laird of Bonnie Braes.” Bonnie
Braes was the farm that ran on land west of Mullet Creek, where the Vista
Heights subdivision now stands. Thomas was a merchant who sat on Streetsville’s
first municipal council in 1858, and his wife, Agnes ran a ladies’ school.
With the exception of the kitchen wing, which was added in the 1870s,
the Colonial Regency-style structure has remained unaltered throughout
the years. |
